The War Graves of Ystradgynlais

Proposed War Memorial List for Abercrave

The article below comes from the Labour Voice newspaper (The Llais) in 1919, and contains what was believed to be a comprehensive list of Abercrave war dead from the Great War. When the Ystradgynlais War Memorial was constructed, decades later, there was no separate section for Abercrave for the First World War (though there was for the Second). This list therefore helps to break down the Ystradgynlais section of World War One war dead and shows the sacrifice made by the village of Abercrave and its surrounding farms.
